Setting Up Your Georgetown Alumni Google Apps Account Georgetown is offering 15 GB Google Apps email accounts to all alumni in place of the email forwarding that we’ve offered previously. As of December 15, 2013, the previous email forwarding service has been disabled. If you wish to continue using forwarding services, you'll need to first claim your Georgetown email account and then set up your email forwarding within the account settings. After you set up your Georgetown Google Apps account, mail sent to your NetID@georgetown.edu e-mail address will be delivered directly to your new Georgetown Gmail account instead of the personal email account you set up as your forwarding address. The Georgetown Google Apps Accounts will not contain ads, and Google will not have access to your data. To set up your Georgetown Alumni Google Apps Account, perform the following: Go to https://alumnimigration.georgetown.edu/ and log in with your NetID and password. NOTE: Only Gmail is available. Calendar, Drive, Photos, etc are not available for Alumni. If you forgot your NetID, contact the Service Center by going to help.georgetown.edu. If you don’t know your NetID password, you can reset it using the online password management tool. (Note: You’ll need to first enroll in the tool---if you haven’t done so already---by choosing and answering a few security questions.) If you do not have a hint question there, you'll need to send in a photo ID in order to reset your password at help@georgetown.edu . If you log into your account at apps.georgetown.edu immediately after you set up the Georgetown Google Apps account, you may find that you’re already logged in. If you don’t see the fields to enter your NetID and password, click on the box that contains the words IS THE SIGN IN FORM MISSING?. If you see the message “This account cannot be accessed because we could not parse the log in request”, then the Google server has not yet created the account. If you have already completed the setup process at alumnimigration.georgetown.edu, please wait a couple of hours and then try again. If you continue to experience this issue, please contact the Service Center at help@georgetown.edu.
