What is Qualtrics?
Qualtrics is a Web-based survey and data collection tool that is available to all Georgetown students, faculty, and staff.
What can I use Qualtrics for?
Qualtrics is for academic and non-commercial research purposes only. You may not use Georgetown-licensed Qualtrics for any non-academic or commercial endeavor.
Who is eligible to get Qualtrics?
Qualtrics is available to all current Georgetown students, faculty, and staff. However, your access to Qualtrics ends when you’re no longer affiliated with Georgetown.
How can I access (log in to) Qualtrics?
To log in to Qualtrics, just go to the Qualtrics login page.
How can I get Qualtrics?
You can request a Qualtrics account by completing the Qualtrics Account Request Form. Qualtrics accounts are NetID-enabled. Requests for a Qualtrics account take one week to complete. (Note: The University Information Security Office (UISO) may review requests for a Qualtrics account, depending on the type of data the requester intends to collect.)
I have questions on how to use Qualtrics, whom can I contact for help?
For help with using Qualtrics, you can either go to the Qualtrics support page or use the Qualtrics built-in help system (accessible when you sign in to Qualtrics). You can also contact Qualtrics support at support@qualtrics.com.
If you're having trouble with Qualtrics (e.g., not working properly), please contact Qualtrics support at support@qualtrics.com (please copy qualtrics@georgetown.edu in the email). If you have service request (e.g., need to transfer ownership of a survey), please contact the Service Center at help.georgetown.edu.
Who can I contact with questions about Qualtrics?

Can I share my survey with others?
You can share your Qualtrics project with anyone---with people at Georgetown, and even people outside Georgetown, such as academic peers and colleagues.
Before you can share your survey, make sure the person(s) with whom you want to share your project already have a Qualtrics account. If the person(s) are outside Georgetown, they can set up a free Qualtrics account by going to the Qualtrics Web site, www.qualtrics.com and then clicking on the FREE ACCOUNT button located at the top right-hand corner of the home page.

How can I customize the look and feel of my survey?
Qualtrics gives you the ability to customize the appearance of your survey in many different ways, such as using one of Qualtrics’s custom themes. Click here to find out more about how you can customize the look and feel of your survey.
Can I reuse a survey or question?
Yes, you can reuse any survey or question you’ve created by copying that item into your Qualtrics Library. You can even reuse any graphics you’ve copied into a previously created survey. Access your Library by logging in to Qualtrics and then clicking on Library at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Can I export my survey as a Microsoft Word document?

How do I change my survey settings?
There are numerous survey settings that you can view and modify in Qualtrics, including how to protect your survey (ensuring your survey is secure), controlling the level of access to your survey, and settings on how your survey is presented (ended) when completed.
To access your survey settings, click on the survey whose settings you want to change, and then click Survey Options.
Can I view different saved versions of my survey?
Yes. Qualtrics enables you to view a version history of your survey. Just go into the survey and select Tools > Versions > View Version History.
How can I get a Qualtrics administrative account?
First, make sure you already have (or have access to) an admin NetID. Then complete the Qualtrics Request Form; in the form, state that the account is for an admin NetID.
Can I move my Qualtrics account between universities?
Yes you can, but it takes 4-6 weeks for Qualtrics to complete the move. To request the account move, contact the Service Center at help.georgetown.edu.
Which Qualtrics products does Georgetown have access to?
Georgetown Qualtrics users have access to Research Core. The Qualtrics support page has extensive instructions on how to use Research Core.
Which Qualtrics products does Georgetown not have access to?
Georgetown Qualtrics users do not have access to Customer Experience, Employee Experience, Product Experience, and Brand Experience---all are commercial products. If you want to obtain a license for any of these products, you can purchase them separately.
Can I get add-ons to Qualtrics?
Any functionality add-ons will need to be purchased separately for yourself. Add-ons typically cost $1000-$1500 per user. Examples of add-ons are File Upload (the ability to add files to your survey), Offline API (the ability to run surveys without being connected to the Internet), and Respondent Pools.
When should I use Qualtrics?
You can use Qualtrics for both research projects and administrative projects (e.g., staff choosing t-shirt sizes).
Note: It is UIS’s expectation that Qualtrics users will know when it is appropriate to use Qualtrics, as well as which methods within Qualtrics to use. Students with questions on appropriate methods to use Qualtrics should discuss with their instructor.
I don’t think Qualtrics is working as it should be, or there might be a Qualtrics outage. What should I do?
You first can check the Qualtrics Application Status page to see if there’s an outage notice. If there is an outage (you’ll see a red light icon displayed), immediately email support@quatrics.com. IMPORTANT: Make sure to copy qualtrics@georgetown.edu when you email Qualtrics support; only contacting Qualtrics support will delay the resolution of your problem.
Can I access my Qualtrics data after I leave Georgetown?
You will lose access to your Georgetown Qualtrics account when you lose access to other NetID-enabled Georgetown services. If you need access for a longer period of time, you must request that your department sponsor you as a Sponsored University Associate (SUA).
Can I transfer my surveys to someone at Georgetown?
Yes. This can be done by the Qualtrics administrator. To request the transfer, contact the Service Center via email, phone, or chat by going to help.georgetown.edu.
Can I request a group for sharing surveys within Qualtrics?
Yes. Contact the Service Center with your request. Note: Groups can only include persons from GU (cannot include persons outside of Georgetown).
I think Qualtrics is down, where can I check to find out if it’s down?
You can check the Qualtrics status page.
I work at Georgetown’s Qatar location; how do I get access to the Qatar theme?
